KATHMANDU: Tibetans here have been refused permission to celebrate the Nobel Prize conferment on their religious leader, the Dalai Lama, in Oslo.
The Tibetans, who have a refugee status here, had planned an elaborate two day programme for Dec 10 and 11 to hail the occasion.
A community leader, said although the local administration had given verbal permission to celebrate, it was revoked on December 7, possibly because the Nepalese government did not want to “antagonize its Chinese friends”.
