KATHMANDU: Anti-Indian slogans were raised by the participants in Sunday’s government backed procession which was led, among others, by Nepalese prime minister Marich Man Singh Shrestha.
According to political circles here, slogans like “Bharatko Bistarbad Murdabad” (down with Indian expansionism) were repeatedly raised by the precisionists, The participants also raised slogans like “Lhendhu Dorji Murdabad” (meaning Mr. Ganesh Man Singh, Nepalese Congress Supremo),” “Down with foreign agents” and “Down with anti-national alliance.”
The post procession meeting in a resolution, “strongly deplored and condemned the ill-intentioned’ attempts of a few foreign politicians to undermine our “independence and self-pride in contravention of all international norms.”
Political circles in Nepal find it an attempt to sabotage the forthcoming official and ministerial level talks with India “to serve their vested interests.”
