SIMILA, India: Mr. M.S. Negi, Chairman of the All India Tribes and Minorities Federation has suggested greater autonomy to solve the Punjab and Gurkha Land problems. In a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Mr. Negi demanded that the Hindus should be given minority status in States like Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir. Negi who released! the’ memorandum to the press on Sunday has also suggested that all the state governments should be directed to appoint commissions for minorities keeping in view the geographical situation and the social and economic position of the minorities. Negi also suggested adopting Jammu and Kashmir communal law of 1980 in the critical area.
