BOMBAY: BJP leader L.K_Advani on March 14 said that “the needle of suspicion” for the Bombay bomb blasts “automatically” points to Pakistan, which had accomplices in India, “The brain may be in Islamabad, but the hand is certainly here. It is a traitor’s hand,” he asserted.

When asked if he was accusing Muslims of being the accomplices, Advani replied, “No, they could be hired hands,” he said the blasts were not a Hindu Muslim problem, but an India Pakistan one.

The BJP leader, who was ad dressing newspersons after touring the blast sites and various hospitals, also criticized the Government’s recent initiatives on Kashmir. “It is not merely a change personnel but a change of policy. It represents a desire to make a deal with the militants,” he said, adding, “the blasts in Bombay are a warming that the Government should review its Kashmir policy.”

Describing the Bombay blasts as “ghastly, inhuman and unprecedented,” Advani said, “the nature of the operation makes it very clear that it was not the handiwork of an individual or a private group, This needs resources and planning which only a state agency can possess.”

The BJP leader said, “if the people responsible were booked, it may become possible for the Government of India to convince the US to call Pakistan a terrorist state,

He said, “it was in the hands of the Government to identify the persons involved, including the foreign hand. The results of its investigations must be seen in a Couple of days.” He continued, “if it is the ISI of Pakistan, the Government should launch a worldwide campaign to isolate Pakistan as a terrorist state.
