NEW DELHI: A Punjab cadre officer, Narinder Nath Vohra, has been made India’s new home secretary in place of Madhav God bole who got premature retirement protesting against new political initiatives in Kashmir. Vohra served as home secretary of Punjab at a time when Sikh militancy was at its zenith in the state. He is at present India’s defence secretary.
