KANPUR: The anti-Congress Muslim leaders of the city have approached the Shahar Qazis, Qazi Abdus Samiand Maulana Manma Ahmad urging them to issue a fatwa banning Muslims from at tending Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s proposed public meeting next month,
Echoing the feelings of the Muslims, Abdul Barquad Nazmi, convener of the Babn Masjid Action Committee said “the Prime Minister is fully aware of the sentiments of the Muslims and he should not dare to enter the city for addressing a meeting.”
