NEW DELHI (PTI): The Mustim IdUlJuha festival, symbolizing the supreme sacrifice of prophet Ibrahim, was celebrated in most parts of the country last week with traditional gaiety, enthusiasm and religious fervor. Special prayers in various mosques and public places and acts of charity marked the festival. Sikhs and Hindus greeted their Muslim brethren on the occasion.
A special prayer was held at the historic Jama Masjid, the capital’s largest mosque. Kashmir militants, lodged in several jails in Jammu region, also celebrated Id-Ul-Zuha amidst tight security with the authority pro viding special food to them. Muslims in large numbers offered prayers at various mosques in the Kashmir valley.
