She said that on regaining her composure, she informed her husband Mr. BRURNA also a Punjab IAS officer, about the incident. Her husband wanted to settle scores with Mr, Gill there and then but she prevented him from “‘creating a scene.”
The very next day she took steps to report the mutter to the thon Chick Secretary, Mr.R.P. Ojha, security adviser 0 the then Punjab governor, Mr. J.F. Ribiero; secretary to the governor, Mr. Y.S. Ratra and the Governor Mr.S.S. Ray. But all of them told her that taking penal action against Mr. Gill would not be in national interest and that he would tender an unconditional apology to her.
This she said was not acceptable to her as the matter was serious and she wanted penal action to be taken against him us per the rule of law and that a criminal case is registered against him, when no action was taken, a case was formally registered with the UT police on July 29, 1988. The CJM adjoumed the case 10 February 22 when the prosecution witness would be cross-examined.
