Mr. Rahman maintains a great respect for Sikhism. One day at a Sikh prayer meeting last year Mr. Rahman really appreciated his 30 years’ experience in New Delhi when he being a Muslim was welcomed in the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Rehman said “It was 1960 when I to worked in the Pakistan Embassy. One day while walking in front of the Gurdwara Sahib I heard Shabad Kinan (Sikh Prayer). I was standing near the door and was enjoying the Kirtan. At that time an old saintly looking Sikh came out from Gurdwara Sahib and asked me Beta (my Son) why are you standing outside? Please come in and enjoy Shabad Kirtan and food inside”.
Muslim so how can I go into the Gurdwara Sahib? Then the Sikh told me that we are all children to the same God In Gods home everyone is welcome! I had never heard before such words of fatherly affection from an unknown person. I found Sikhs very nice people with a great tolerance f the religions”.
While saying all this Rahmans voice was full of emotions and sentiments.
