NEW DELHI: Members in both houses of parliament on Tuesday expressed concern over the attempted assassination of G.S. Tohra and demanded a statement from the government on it,

Raising the issued during zero hour, P.R. Kumarmangalam (Congress-I) said Ludhiana was considered to be one of the safest places in Punjab.

He said government had information that Tohra was on the “hit list” and yet nothing was done to provide adequate security to him.

Bharatiya Janata Party member Janardan Tiwari demanded that the Punjab governor should be replaced and retired army personnel should be deployed in the state.
