BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Congress president Digvijay Singh has demanded a stay on the State government’s decision to grant autonomous status to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-backed Vidya Bharatil chain of schools for the conduct of Class V and Class VIII examinations.
In a statement issued May 31 Singh said that the issue should be first discussed at an all-party meeting and there should be a national debate on it. “The BJP Government should remember that it is bound by an oath to preserve the Constitution. It should not indulge in any act that violates this” and puts a black mark on the unanimously accepted principle or secularism “he said Declaring opposition of the: Congress to the” Policy Singh made it clear that” this decision would be reversed once the party comes to power in the state. He warned people against playing with the careers of their wards.
