NEW DELHI: Further curbs on Punjab’s constitutional powers have been hinted at with a section of the state’s bureaucracy proposing a central legislation to provide for immunity from prosecution for officers posted in the state.

Several police officers apprehend they will have to face action in the event of an elected pro-Sikh govt coming to power in the state after elections now talked of sometime in April These officers include those who have killed thousands of Sikhs in fake encounters crippled thousands of others due to torture and extorted millions from the public.
