ROME, Oct 1, Reuter: Mother Theresa of Calcutta has welcomed a new papal document which says women cannot become priests, saying men and women have different roles in the church.
Pope John Paul’s document published on Friday defends equal dignity for women but says that Christ specifically chose only men for his apostles.
“Men and women have different roles to play in the church but the same dignity before Christ,” the nun said.
