In WSN of Nov.27, 1992 we read a response from Dr. Pashaura Singh who now wants to publish a book on his blasphemous thesis why would someone read that book when the original thesis is available.

The dictionary meaning of the word blasphemy is “impious utterance or profane speaking of God or of sacred person or things.” In Punjabi language we call it “Rab Nindia or Beabdi” Dr. Pashaura Singhs letter does not provide any answer to the accusation against him but he has defended himself saying that he is academic and all other Sikhs who commented on his thesis are un-academic. This is quite contrary to Gurus teachings where our Guru is so humble that he says “Baba main Baura Sabh Khak Siani.” As a Sikh preoccupied with the plight of Sikhs in Punjab and India where thousands are tortured to death by Indian government. I do not have time to waste by Indian government I do not have time to waste time by reading blasphemous thesis. But from the articles published so far I can say that the work of Dr. Pashaura Singh can be either blasphemy or abused privilege.

Starting with Hindus from the times of Guru Nanak through Mughal ruler’s English minoritics and historians among whom trump McGregor and McLeod are notorious to present day Hindu rulers and journalists committed thousands of acts of blasphemy against Sikh Gurus. Pashaura Singhs friends question us “why Pashaura is picked up for blasphemy accusation when there were others who did worse things?” These people must remember that Mansoon did not cry when he was stoned by people at the order of the king but he was immensely hurt when one of his friends hit him with a rose flower.

As Sikhs we do not want to censor anyone but we must say that god or Guru cannot be a subject of research or search because it’s we as human being who is lost not the Guru or God. Guru told us “Akath na Kathia Jani” and we are trying to describe the un-describable. In thesis by Pashaura Singh it is not so much a question about facts being wrong but he is wrong in selecting certain facts to prove a premises that was biased and profane.
