Vanhmingthangi, wife of S .L. Thansanga, the Principal of Aizawl Law College, was found dead on the morning of October 8, by her maid. A number of torture marks were found on her body. A murder case under Section 302 of the IPC was registered against her husband,
Ata rally organized by the Federation here on Monday morning, its President Lalrinthluangi and Vice-President Saihulpuli said Vanhmingthangi was tortured to death by her husband the night before.
Neighbors, who rushed to help on hearing her cries, were prevented from entering the house by her husband.
In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Lalthanh awala, the Federation demanded quick disposal of the case under non-bailable conditions.
