MISS: The Democrats of Mississippi State held their 14th Annual Jefferson ~ Jackson Day Dinner On July 23,1993 at Jackson City, the capital of Mississippi. Dr. Balwant Singh of Pascagoula, member of State and County Democrat Executive Committees, AN activist in education funding battles at the State Capitol, participated along with several committee members, lawmakers, teachers and Union members of the Coast area of the Mississippi. Mr.David Wilhelm, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, America’s foremost political organizer and leading voice for the economic concerns of working families, prominent writer of tax reform and other policies to ease the burden on the poor, and expand economic opportunities for all Americans was the guest speaker for this occasion, The theme of this speech at this function was, “Making the Dream of Change Real”! He explained President Clinton agenda for America’s future and urged the audience to support the efforts of President Clinton and the Democratic Party majority in the Congress. Mr. Wilhelm was applauded many times during his speech for his keen interest in the President’s Plan in building the economy of our great nation for our future generations,
After the speech, David Wilhem presented the awards for outstanding contributions of State and County Executive Committees and individual members of Mississippi State. The Jackson County Democratic Executive Committee head quartered in Pascagoula was given a plaque and honored with the Chairman’s Award, The Chairman’s Award is presented annually in recognition of outstanding achievements at the grassroots level.
Chairman Cole said, “Robbie was nominated by Dr. Balwant Singh of Pascagoula who is a member of the Country and State Executive Committee and an education leader.
Robbie, President of the Young Democrat at Jackson County, has demonstrated outstanding leader ship qualities for his role to the 1992. Clinton/Gore Campaign and his efforts at organizing high school students into the Young Democrats Club of Mississippi.
