Sir,

This is in response to the letter Dr. Sohan Singh from Mr Buttar (WSN Jan 25-1991).

Mr. Buttar’s views are well reflected in terms of his affiliation with the council of Khalistan. But l thinks he has missed a broader and more important issue.

Maybe a true and deeper concern of all Sikhs could be better addressed if all parties’ councils organisations and governments in exile came together under one banner and worked together for a common cause. Unfortunately the shallowness of individual personalities of so many of our community leaders has resulted in the mollification of multiple organisations. It is noted with great sorrow that we have three panthic committees who are working so hard in their own right to achieve a common goal I wonder however that how much efforts has gone towards forming a united front to achieve our common goals and that of the council of Khalistan There is immense wisdom in the saying “united we stand and divided we fall”..

I hope and pray that our leaders who humble themselves in the beginning of a statement finish it by indiscrete overtures and tounge lashing would refrain from exhibiting a knee jerk reaction to anything that is said to or about them. It is the price of being a leader and if they can’t take the heat they should follow the good advice and get out of the Kitchen.

They should stop pretending and follow the tenants of Gurmat such as “man nevaan te mat uchi”.

It will be a matter of eternal joy for all Sikhs when our pseudo leaders evolve into true ones. One ominous sign of thin might be that they would start solving their differences in a mature and desecrate fashion rather than letting out harsh and crude outbursts of their sentiments. Until such a day admits I pray to the God all mighty to give them wisdom so that they know better and do better.
