STOCKTON: WSN contacted Mr Floyd’s office and his spokesman Mr Bob Terry said I have no reason to cast any derogatory remarks against any religion that would be stupid on my part. I was misquoted and quoted out of context.
However Mr Terry said the helmet bill was four years old and no one raised any objections during the hearings. Now that the law has been passed people are protesting.
This was Mr Terry’s reply to Mr Mann. Thank you for forwarding a copy of June 5,1991 San Jose Mercury News article authored by Ester Schroder regarding the motorcycle helmet law.
Please be advised that the reporter misquoted me. I unequivocally deny any type of statement which would equate the Hells Angels with the Sikhs religion or any other religion for that matter.
I have advised the San Jose Mercury News of this matter and stated that a retraction is in order. Whether or not it in fact will be forthcoming is yet to be determined.
