CHANDIGARH: Five militant Organisations the “KCF” the “KLF”, the “Babbar Khalsa,” the Sikh Students Federation and the “BTFK” has warned engineers contractors, politicians and officials against resuming work on the SYL canal. In a statement issued here on behalf of Mr Daljit Singh (SSF), Mr Sukhdev Singh Babbar (Babbar, Khalsa”), Mr Sukhwinder Singh Sangha (“BTFK”), Mr Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwala (*KLF”) and Mr Paramjit Singh Panjwar (“KCF”) it was said that the militants were keeping a close watch on developments on the SYL front. They warned that anybody working against the interests of Punjab would not be spared.

They also warned officials who were forcing workers to work all various sites on the proposed canal it defiance of their directive. In many cases officials were threatening workers and employees with retrenchment for their refusal to work at the project. The militant leaders warned that there should be no retrenchment and all poor workers and employees should be paid their salaries regularly.
