CHANDIGARH: All major militant organizations in Punjab have turned down Governor Verma’s offer of amnesty if they laid down arms.

The joint front of Khalistan Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa, Khalistan Commando Force and AISSF (Daljit) said in the joint statement that Sikhs could not part with their weapons which to them were their deities, There was no question of holding talks unless it were on Khalistan.

The militant organizations ridiculed Verma for his ignorance of Sikh history, tradition and Sikh psyche which favoured sovereignty. The militant’s statement was signed by Sukhdev Singh, Paramjit Singh Panjwad, Gurjant Singh Budh Singh wala and Daljit Singh.

On the other hand the Bhindranwale Tiger Force of Khalistan chief and senior member of the five member panthic committee Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal and KCF chief Gurjant Singh Rajasthani rejected the governor’s offer and said they could talk to Delhi about Khalistan. The two leaders whose militant organizations function separately from the other four bodies condemned the high handedness of the National Security Guards in Amritsar district.
