SRINAGAR: Militants ambushed a bus carrying Paramilitary personnel of the CRPF at Banderwan, two kms from Magam town in south Kashmir, an official spokesman in this summer capital of Kashmir said.

The bus was returning after disbursing the salary of CRPF men when some militants fired on it late Wednesday. The militants fled when the CRPF men returned the fire.

No one was injured in the exchange of fire. Some persons from the village have been detained by the security forces for interrogation, the spokesman said.

No other major incident was reported from the Kashmir valley.
