BARODA: Commandos of the National Security Guards (NSG) took positions around the building in the Juna police station area of the city on Friday as at least three militants who have been under siege since last evening gave no clue about their next intentions. The NSG was planning an assault on the building later in the evening after a thorough briefing by the Baroda and Bombay police which in a joint operation shot dead one of the militants.

The militants stopped firing with AK-47 and the more modern AK-47 assault rifles at the police and made no movements after about 2 a.m on Friday. The lull prevailed through-out Friday and efforts by the police to spot the militants holed out in the building failed. Brisk activity was witnessed after about 40 commandoes moved in and took position around the building located in the Juna station area.
