SRINAGAR: A militant and three members of a family were among seven people killed in Jammu and Kashmir while security forces arrested 24 militants since Sunday evening.
A Pakistan trained militant surrendered to security forces.
An official spokesman said that some suspected Punjab militants killed 25-yr-old Darshan Singh his wife and mother on Sunday night at Simbal Camp20km from Jammu.
He said militants killed two persons Habib Bhatt and Abul Aziz Sheikh at Kupwara and Khanyar.
He said a militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district while one person was killed in cross firing between militants and security forces on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night.
Militants kidnapped one lecture and an instructor of local college and killed two others while troops raided hospital to flesh out militants in the Kashmir valley since Sunday.
The security forces arrested 33 subversives in the valley during the period.
Militants kidnapped Dev. Raj Sharma lecturer of Regional Engineering College Srinagar and Hari Dutt Butt an instructor in the college the SSP. Srinagar Rajendra Kumar said here on Monday.
He said no militant outfit had claimed responsibility for the abduction of the two persons.
Meanwhile the all given earlier for Kashmir bandh on Tuesday has been withdrawn by its sponsors.
