The case pertaining to the involvement of Maninder Singh, a Punjab Sub Judge, in the death of his steno, Meera, took a curious tum when Ram Krishan, brother of the deceased, moved an application in the High Court for impleading him in the petition filed by the Maninder Sigh for quashing the FIR registered against him.

Vikram Chaudhari, appearing for the applicant, submitted that the FIR had been registered at his instance wherein grave allegations had been leveled against the Sub Judge. As such, he was entitled to be impleaded as a party to the proceedings. Justice Swatantar Kumar allowed the application and impleaded Ram Krishan as a party to the proceedings and fixed the case for October 5, 1995, for further proceedings.
