AMRITSAR: The Amritsar Working Journalists Union boycotted the function organized by the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (I) in connection with its mass contact program at Goindwal in protest against the “insulting” behavior of the police.
The Association appealed to the editors of the Jalandhar and Chandigarh based dailies not to entertain press notes and photographs issued by the state Public Relations department in connection with the Congress (I)’s mass contact program.
In another resolution on the Association appealed to journalists working in other parts of Punjab to boycott the mass contact program in solidarity with the Amritsar journalists.
