LOS ANGELES CA: World Sikh News Board of Directors expressed satisfaction at the steady progress that the newspaper has made despite many limitations and determined opposition from quarters that are anxious to stifle this developing Sikh media. Outlining steps to further improve its quality and scope the directors congratulated the staff for their dedication and hard work. They particularly applauded the editor for his excellent editorial comments and coverage of current news and issues.

“(Sacramento Calif) were unanimovsly elected President vice President Secretary and Treasurer for the next term respectively. S. Didar Singh Bains (Yuba City Ca) S. Baldev Singh (New York) S. Lakhbir Singh Cheema (Los Angeles) Dr. Naunihal Singh (New York) and S. Amarjit S. Buttar (Vermont Conn.) were elected new directors of the Board. Earlier Sikh National Educational and Cultural Organization had elected S Hardyal Singh Dhatt (Stockton Ca) S. Jagjit Singh Boparai (Union City Ca) and Dr. HS. Shergill (Stockton Ca) and S Rajinder Singh Bling (Stockton Ca) to serve as directors on the World Sikh News Corporation.
Massive support came to World Sikh News at the dinner which Dr. Pannu hosted for WSO delegates WSN management and Sikh elite of Los Angeles. On the spot collection of over nine thousand dollars came from Dr. Jasbir Singh Mann Dr. Amrit Singh Sekhon Dr. Gurnam Singh Pannu Dr. Sarbjit Singh Mann S. Hargopal Singh Sandbu S. S Amarjit Singh Sidhu from Chicago who designed Chicago Gurdwara building and is preparing a well-researched document on the architecture of Sikh Gurdwaras promised to do his best to enroll 200 new subscribers. He also announced a contribution of $250.00 every month for the next twelve months S. Amarjit Singh Bottar Dr. Harbans Singh Sr2on S. Gurcharan Singh Dhillon Mrs. Dr. Naunihal Singh and S. Guram Singh Pamma each agreed to arrange subscriptions for at least five US. Senators and Congressmens that correct version of Sikh related events could reach the top echelons of US administrators and legislators.
At the Sunday Gurdwara congregation general appreciation was expressed by various speakers for the commendable work being done by the World Sikh News. Emphasising the need for developing effective Sikh media. S Amolak Singh President of the Gurdwara and S Buttar called upon all the Sikhs to subscribe to World Sikh News.
