Madras: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) decided to launch a statewide massive agitation soon if the governments of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu did not stop what it called “misuse” of the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Prevention Act (TADA) for arresting its political adversaries.
DMK president Karunanidhi briefing newsmen on the deliberations at the party’s emergent administrative committee meeting in madras capital of Tamil Nadu alleged that the AIADMK government had “Indirectly promulgated a mini emergency in the state by misusing TADA provisions. He said these provisions were being used to arrest his party men. Action should be taken against those about whom there were specific charges under the provisions of the Indian penal code.
The party would organize Black Flag Processions on Jan 22. All lover the state condemning the “centers and Tamil Nadu governments inaction to protect the over one lakh Tamils who had fled Karnataka because of attacks on them. Another resolution decided on demonstrations to protest the price raises bus power and rail fare hikes and against.

He said the party would organize a massive rally here on Feb. 3 and submit a memorandum to state governor B.N. Singh urging him to instruct the AIADMK government to stop.
