CHANDIGARH: Surjit Singh, a nephew of late Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal, founder chief of Bhindranwale Tigers Force, committed suicide while six other militants, were killed in Punjab.
Security forces shot down two militants in an encounter near Ghunas village in Bamala police district (Sangrur). Later, one of them was identified as Lachhman Singh alias Hakam Singh a member of the Khalistan commando force (Panjwar).
MEHAL SINGH KILLED: A top militant belonging to the Bhindranwale Tiger Force of Khalistan was killed along with two accomplices in an encounter with the Haryana Police in Kalanwali village near here, on Thursday. Those killed with him have been identified as Beant Singh, alias Bachi, of Mansa district in Punjab, and Parkash Singh of Dabwali in Haryana.
