CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal headed by Mr Simranjit Singh Mann accused certain journalists of attempting to create a rift in the Sikh Panth through a “campaign of disinformation and misinformation” and warned them “to mend their ways as it could have serious repercussions”. Mr Iqbal Singh Tiwana deputy secretary of the party said in a statement “the party cannot tolerate deliberate mischief by journalists who serve the vested interests of corrupt and brutal agencies silencing the voice of Punjabis demanding their rights”
The statement that the party believed in the freedom of the press.
