NEW DELHI: Devi Lal, the deputy PM has said that Simranjit Singh Mann’s attitude towards solving the Punjab problem was positive and that he had assured full cooperation to the National Front Govt in this regard.
It may be mentioned that Devi Lal is a leader from Haryana which borders Punjab. The two states had territorial and river water disputes. Devi Lal’s statement now has considerable significance because Mann has not made public his views on the water and land disputes.
Devi Lal said he was committed to VP Singh continuing as prime minister for a full term as well as another term.
