AMRITSAR,(PTI):The Northern Indian state of Punjab’s Tam Taran district police June 24 detained the Akali Dal (Mann) president, Simranjit Singh Mann and other party workers on their way to village Behla to attend a protest convention there Thursday against the alleged use of “human shield” on June 9,
The police detained Mann and other Akali leaders under section 751 of CR. P.C., between villages Golwar and Duburgee on the Tarn Taran road.
Others accompanying Mann were Party General Secretary Bhai Ram Singh and some Party workers. Earlier, Mann had a meeting with AISSF president, Bhai Manjit Singh.
