The senior superintendent of police, S.K.Mishra, said they were arrested for violating the ban on his entry into the district, clamped Tuesday night, under Section 144 Cr.P.C.
Mann and his supporters were arrested near the Noida crossing while they were on their way to Ayodhya. He was taken to the Police lines from where he was shifted to Meerut Jail
Mann and his supporters insisted on proceeding to Ayodhya when their motorcade was stopped near the Noida crossing, they were shown the district magistrates order banning their entry into the district and requested to turn back. They refused and were taken into custody.
Apprehending Mann’s entry into the district, the police and Pro-vincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) men had been deployed in strength on the Delhi-Ghaziabad.

MEET: According to a report from Lucknow, the decision 10 arrest Mann was taken at a high level meeting there Tuesday after the state government made it clear that he would not be allowed to enter UP.
