CHANDIGARH, India: Mr. Manmohan Kalia, M.L.A. and General Secretary of Punjab, B.J.P was killed in a car accident near Jullundur on June 3rd. Mr. Kalia’s driver was also killed and his gunman was also seriously injured. Mr. Kalia was returning from ‘Chandigarh attending the Videhhan Sabha session when the car in which he was travelling collided with a truck near Jullundur cantonment. Mr. Kalia was elected to State Assembly in 1967, 1969, 1977 and 1985 from Jullundur central constituency. He was made Cabinet Minister in the Government in 1969 1970.
