From News Dispatches JALLANDHAR: The president of All India Sikh Students Federation, Manjit Singh and its general secretary Harminder Singh Sandhu, called Central government’s attempt to raise the issue of Anandpur Sahib Resolution an election stunt to capture vote banks,

Power To Akalis

The raising of this issue is also an attempt to give some power to the Akali Dal so that it can continue to serve the interests of the Central Government, rather than represent the true aspirations of the Sikhs, they said.

The Anandpur Sahib resolution was the accepted document of Sikh politics till 1984 but the brutal attack on the Golden Temple in June 1984 changed all that, they said.

Complete Freedom

The Sikhs now want complete freedom from the shocker of Indian constitution and want to establish their own rule from the Akal Takhat, they said, The federation would not allow anyone to bargain for anything less than the complete freedom, they said.
