VIRGINIA: For the 295th anniversary of the Birth of the Khalsa Panth, Sikh Foundation of Virginia celebrated this auspicious Occasion by Starting out with the Nishan Sahib Ceremony in the early hours of April 13, 1994. Special kirtan darbars were held on April 13-14 by the Sikh Foundation of Virginia’s youth, ladies, Giani Kuldeep Singh Ji. Giani Gummeet Singh Nimana, and Bhai Jaspal Singh of California.
Sri Akhand Paath Sahib started on April 15, 1994 and the blog on Sunday morning April 17. After the bhog, there was a tea break, which was followed by the Assa Di-Waar, by Giani Kuldeep Singh Ji. The Sunday Diwan followed it, in which Sikh Foundation ‘of Virginia’s youth ladies, Giani Kuldeep Singh Ji, Giani Gumeet Singh Nimana recited shabad Gurbani, There was a Special Part in the program in which a Dhadhi Jatha from New York came and recited Vaars. Throughout the whole program, langar was served to over 700 people.
Guru Nanak Foundation of America of Silver Spring, Maryland, also celebrated this great celebration on April 17, 1994. The day started with the Nishan Sahib Ceremony followed by Assa-Di-Waar and a tea break. The actual program started with the GNFA youth ladies, Bhai Jagmohan Singh and his Raji Jatha, and Vaar’s recited by a Dhadhi jatha. langar was served all the day to over 700 people as Well. They formed a new management committee Chairman Dr.Rajinder S.Sidhu, Sect. Mrs. Manjeet Raddick Treasurer, Dr. Chadda P.R.O. Mrs. Bassi On Friday evening their special seminar was held for the youth.
Washington Sikh Center, Gaithersburg Maryland celebrated birthday of Khalsa on April 24, 1994. WSC Youth, Prof. Gurdeep Singh Bawa and Raagi Jatha recited kirtan, Over 100 People attended this Diwan. They formed a new management committee.
