In regard to the wearing of turban by members of Sikh Religion that we discussed earlier, the following is finished:
After extensive dialogue with Labour Law in the Southern region, their position is that we should allow this accommodation in view of the Title 7 guidelines and recent rulings.
In regard to religious accommodation, the only contention that should disallow this accommodation would be either a safety hazard (or wearing of the turban would reflect unfavorably on the postal service, You as well as the area manager, Baker, indicated that neither of those were applicable.
Therefore this date I have notified carrier Mann that he will be allowed 10 wear his turban in compliance with his religious beliefs. By copy of this letter, station manager Oak Forest Station is being advised of the Postal Services.
