CHANDIGARH: Mahant Sewa Das president of the one man Pheruman Akali Dal has called for direct talks of the center with the militants fighting for Khalistan. The Mahant in a press statement doubted whether a solution was possible to the problem as long as VP Singh relied on the old Akali Dal for advice. This policy would lead to Khalistan he said.
The Mahant also said the present police chief KPS Gill should not be disgraced by replacing him with D.S Mangat who was recently appointed DGP (operations). He said Gill should be promoted.
