CHANDIGARH: The national experts committee on the Longowals Institute of Engineering and Technology (LIET) has indicated that the cost of the project would be about R.s 96 crore and the Center has provided R.s 50 crore in the Eighth Plan for its construction.
The institute has been planned in the memory of Harchand Singh Longowal, the Akai leader who was an architect of the discredited Punjab accord in 1985.
