AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee SGPC Chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra said that Sant Harchand Singh Longowal was the greatest martyr of the Sikh community who sacrificed his life for his philosophy of peace and humanism. It was Sant Longowals philosophy a peace that ultimately prevailed in Punjab he said.
Praising the services of the Sant at a special function organized at the Sikh museum to install the portraits of Longowal and Bibi Rajinder Kaur president Istri Akali Dal and daughter of Master Tara Singh Tohra said the future Sikh generations should follow the path laid down by them Both were shot dead by militants. A portrait of Sahib Singh a professor of Sikhism was also installed at the Sikh Museum.
It is for the first time that Tohra has called Longowal a Sikh martyred and praised Hill for his sacrifice as well services.
