NEW DELHI: President Venkat araman late Monday dissolved the Eighth Lok Sabha.
The cabinet presided over by Rajiv Gandhi had recommended the dissolution of the Lok Sabha with immediate effect to the president. The term of the current Lok Sabha was to expire on January 14, 1990.
DESPERATE ACT?
Rajiv Gandhi as caretaker Prime Minister has asked the home ministry to drop the conspiracy case against Simranjit S. Mann and to free him. He also said that he had no bitterness against the Sikhs.
