NEW DELHI, India: At its first national convention held at Ram Lilla ground two days ago the Lok Dal leaders, H.N. Bahuguna, Devi Lal, Kapoori Thakur and Villayan Singh Yadav held the Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi responsible for the recent party split which was brought about by encouraging overambitious factionalist elements led by Mr. Ajit Singh.
The political resolution moved by Mr. Kapoori Thakur which was adopted unanimously said that the Prime Minister because of his inexperience and nervous thinking that he can stabilize himself only by destabilizing the Opposition and by curbing and browbeating the independent and honest functionaries of the government. It’s no secret that Congress.
(1) is haunted by the nightmare of defeat in the impending Haryana Assembly poll at the hands of Lok Dal led by popular leader Chaudhary Devi Lal.
The resolution said that following the serious illness of the party president Mr. Charan Singh, the collective leadership functioning in the party took all possible steps towards achieving the ideals and principles cherished by the ailing veteran leader who always opposed the dynastic principle leadership.
The resolution moved by Mr. Naindey Verma Rajya Sabha member however concentrated its attack on Charan Singh’s son Ajit Singh who was inducted into the party by Mr. Bahuguna, Devi Lal and Villayan Singh Yaday and Mr. Kapoori Thakur.
