We cannot afford to encourage revolutionaries who enjoy the safety and comforts of the western world and live off the sacrifices of our martyrs in Punjab.

Gurmit Singh Aulakh has over the past couple of years made several attacks on the World Sikh News as a ‘tool of disinformation ’tool of the Indian govt, etc.

We had ignored such direct attacks as the ranting of a conceited old man who meant no harm as he was working towards the same objective of Khalistan as we were. But Aulakh’s intense self-centeredness belies his postures. He cannot be termed a freedom fighter in any sense of the word. His objective seems self-promotion first.

Aulakh’s claim that he has single-handedly lobbied for the cause of Khalistan on Capitol Hill is ridiculous. In any case, such lobbying can only generate concern over the terrible human rights situation in Punjab. It will not win support for an independent Khalistan,

The meager resources of the Sikh nation cannot be frittered away. Our resources should be at the disposal of the militants in Punjab. Lobbying which is very important .

Khalistan (Punjab) is not on the economic and political map which regulates US foreign policy. The US State Department in the present circumstances will not support the creation of an independent Sikh nation.

There should be no illusion that Washington will help Sikhs create Khalistan. There is no need to be disheartened, Khalistan is a reality and it will be achieved with your support to the militants,

Whatever supports the Sikhs claim in the US Congress is due largely to Sikhs working to enlighten their representatives and brave human rights activists in Punjab. The WSO took the lead in lobbying efforts by hiring a retired US Congressman for the purpose. We are thankful to the Punjab Human Rights Organization and also to Amnesty International and Asia Watch ( who use PHRO reports extensively) for bringing the plight of the Sikhs to the notice of the world.

No single individual can claim and reap the fruits of the joint effort of the entire Sikh community. A few weeks ago Aulakh along with Col Partap Singh floated a Khalsa Raj Party. This party is not recognized or supported by any militant organization.

Col Partap Singh earlier represented the Bharatiya Mukti Morcha floated by Ram Jethmalani. It was this association which led to his being inducted as working committee member of the Mann Akali Dal. But he parted ways with Mann after Jethmalani and Mann fell out Partap Singh is also a close associate of Raja Amrinder Singh of Patiala whose anti-militant stand is known to all, The Khalsa Raj Party is a directionless one man show.

Aulakh himself was a paid employee of the World Sikh Organisation, So he did not forsake his job for the movement. He has all along worked as a paid employee. The WSO did away with his services, Aulakh floated the United Akali Dal in this country and was with itas long as Baba Joginder Singh was popular in Punjab, Aulakh then formed his own International Sikh Organization, He was appointed President of the Council of Khalistan by the Panthic Committee but was later removed. Aulakh conveniently has carried on with his one man council.

We do not wish to engage in any controversy, If Aulakh is contributing even a little to the struggle for Khalistan, we are grateful to him.
