Honorable President-Elect
Bill Clinton:
Please accept on behalf of New England’s Sikh-Americans our heartiest greetings and best wishes on your victory. We look forward to a new and brighter future for America and for the people seeking freedom justice and peace all over the world.
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you a fear pertaining to your cabinet selection. We respect your constitutional prerogative in the selection of your cabinet. However we hope and pray that you would avoid a political fiasco. Some vested foreign interests have been promoting Congressman Steven Solarzs name for Secretary of State or U.S Ambassador to the U.N. We most earnestly beg you to look for highly talented and eminent Americans with impeccable credentials in public service and personal integrity matching the caliber and dignity of late Dean Acheson Cyrus Vance and Zbigniew Brzezinski for these highly important positions.
The defeated Congressman Solarz has gained a well-deserved notoriety for his abuse of the house bank facilities and for his singlehanded advocacy of foreign partisan interests lavishing American tax money for nuclear weapons under the guise of developmental aid almost acting like an “unregistered foreign agent.” Besides he has shown callous disregard and complete insensitivity for the plight of the Sikhs and Kashmiris the victims of India’s barbaric state terrorism. Their human rights issues so near and dear to your heart are being violated everyday by the Indian Government.
We the Sikh-Americans and the Kashmiri-Americans would feel deeply disturbed and shocked indeed betrayed if any cabinet position or a sub-cabinet position is assigned to Congressman Solarz in your administration.
Once again we seek God’s blessings for your success in the years to come. With best wishes and respectful regards.

Dear President-Elect Clinton:
On behalf of the World Sikh Organization and the 16.5 million Sikhs worldwide accept our heartfelt congratulations and profound feelings on your election to the presidency of the United States of America. Implicit is your role as the World’s leaders are the causes you have espoused in your campaign to the White House. Noteworthy among those causes is freedom the prime purpose of our existence.
The World Sikh Organization espouses the cause of freedom for the millions of Sikhs whose thirst for that freedom pleads for satiation. They have been subjected to the most flagrant of Human Rights abuses…known well by such officials as Congressman Vic Fazio of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus.
Now that the torch of freedom and liberty has been placed in your capable hands your clarion call echoes a new sound throughout the world. The victims of human rights offenses are filled with hope and exhilaration over the promise your leadership holds.
The international Sikh Secretariat Building is located conveniently near Capitol Hill and near the Library of Congress. We would be honored by your presence once you have settled into your new residence.
