Sir,

I along with four persons visited Guru Nanak Wanjara Ashram Kundali (Nagpur) and remained there from June 12,1991 to July 81991. We alsovisited5 villages (Pusagondi Basant Nagar Malkhera Gram Sur and Thapa) where thousands of Wanjara people are residing below poverty line and have a full faith in Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

We have been told that S. Chanan Singh founder President of Wanjara Mission has first surveyed the far flunged areas and villages during last 10 years covering distance about 150000 miles and done marvelous work to propagate the ‘message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’. He visited 4000 villages of 25 000 situated in the States of Maharashtra M.P. U.P. Punjab Karnataka Madras and Rajasthan where Wanjara families have been residing and have a great respect and complete faith in Sikh Dharam.

For this great venture Guru Nanak Ashram with a provision of Gurdwara Sahib to impart religious training for the Wanjara children was established at Kundali 48 k.m. from Nagpur on Calcutta Bombay Highway about 7/ 8 years ago. Till now 10 residential rooms 3 temporary halls have been constructed with the donations of Sikh Sangat residing in India and abroad (England Thailand Singapore and USA) on 4 acres

We observed that good food is ll provided to the trainees and Teas Lassi and langar is also served to the devotees 24 hours Daily Satsang! Kirtan/Jap/Katha is also performed both times regularly.

Now we have been told that further construction of 12 rooms along with toilets is being undertaken very shortly for which thousands of rupees are required. The ‘Sewa’ could be arranged through your good offices/ sources from the devotees .

The living conditions of this downtrodden community of Sikhs needs everything-cheap houses/huts clothes {old and new ones) used foot-wear and utensils etc.

The Ashram management provides seeds and fertilizer to the poor farmers. The Ashram helps this community financially for marriages of their daughters. Money is also given for the purchase of oxen.

S .Chanan Singh formerly a big Govt. forest contractor and businessman of Nagpur has left his whole business and come forward for this great Cause of Sikh Panth’ with the grace of Sat Guru Ji. He is a devoted person with missionary zeal and has spent thousands of rupees to uplift this poor community.

I hope that well to do Sikhs will come forward to help this cause financially
