Sir, I would like to thank S. Jagjit Singh Mangat, President Sikh Cultural Society of NY, who with the Co-operation of other dedicated Sikhs of NY arranged a Panthic meeting on Jan 27, 1990, This was 40 opportunity to meet our Sikh brothers from all over the world. Dr. Gurpartap Singh Birk once asked me about the funds WSO had for its office on the national basis. He (Dr. Birk) then encouraged me saying that raising funds is Rot difficult. He said “if in USA there are 50,000 earning Sikhs and each gives $100 a year then WSO should have five million dollars for Panthic Sewa.” I shared this thought with the sangat in NY. The same concept can be applied to the promotion of World Sikh News. S. Mehar Singh from Des Moines, Iowa, is doing a lot in this direction. If we all, the readers of WSN, make a pledge that by the end of 1990 each one of us is going to convince one more friend for WSN then we have doubled the circulation of WSN. If, however some of us could not convince even one friend for this purpose, then I hope each one of us should be capable to spend $40 and give a free subscription to our friend whom we could not convince! I promise that I will do at least that much for the promotion of WSN During my visit to NY, I sought some financial help for a Panthic cause. I thank S, Didar Singh Bains for the help.
