Sir,
T have seen WSN grow from strength to strength over the past five years, Fears of other Sikhs that a Sikh Newspaper in English has never succeeded so far even in Punjab, what to speak of the USA Proved thankfully wrong. You have done it! Congratulations!
Over the past five years had you chosen to make WSN a money spinner like India Abroad or India West you could have easily done SO, but you did not, I admire your tenacity of purpose and dedication to the cause of the panth. Your invaluable service will not only be remembered, it will be written about in letters of gold when our war is finally won, and that is what we need WSN for, Keep at it, “the medium is the message.” WSN is a pioneer —a trail blazer for the media of the Sikhs.
Don’t let criticism bother you too much. There are mistakes in the paper — which can’t be overlooked. I for one, do not read WSN to see if the commas are there or if all the words are spelled ok — I read it to see what we need to know how we are doing as a community, as a nation, as dignified sons and daughters of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. To see if our beloved land is finally free.
When the criticism seems tiresome remember that some people did not even spare the Gurus in their very life time. The WSN is only run by human beings.
The paper has improved on all counts — the look, content and news value. The Punjabi section in just a few pages does a better job than the exclusively Punjabi papers.
“The press and the nation rise and fall together.” A strong WSN must reflect this in an age of ever improving communications.
