Dear Editor: i congratulate you and the management of the World Sikh News (WSN) for making sincere and dedicated efforts to plead the Sikh cause in the free world. Whereas I am thankful to you for these noble efforts, I am also amazed at the scavengers and self-seekers who do not miss any opportunity to promote their self-interest. They utilize your “Letter to the Editor” column very effectively for this purpose; the only reason they write is to criticize others and to prop up their own names as the true Sikh leaders. Two such letters were published in World Sikh News issues of November 27 and December 4, 1987. These and previous liters published in WSN do not project a true Sikh character enshrined in such qualities as broadmindedness, well-wisher of all human beings, believer in the will of God and of remaining always in the Chardi Kala.
The criticism about “Quit Khalistan Slogan” was totally unfounded and baseless. In your reporting of the Yuba City meeting of WS.O. you did well in not printing any name with the slogan. This is not the first time this slogan was given, this slogan was raised from various platforms earlier also, and the great Martyr Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale used this slogan in his own way to awaken the Sikh Panth. Khalsa Panth is the only authorized body to give any slogan {o the Panth, In Sikhism an individual or opportunist has no power to give any directions to the Panth, A rue Sikh lives for the Panth and dies for the Panth and acts as Panth sewadars and not as self-appointed leader. This slogan is not binges than Raj Kare ga Khalsa and there is no name associated with it those who want to thrive on mere slogans should know that Khalistan cannot be liberated by raising a slogan at a distance of 11000 miles away. The Sikh nation needs sacrifices and will be liberated by the sacrifices made by thousands of Sikh men, women ‘and children who have staked their lives.
‘No one should expect that the entire Sikh nation would start worshipping him simply because he or she raised a solitary slogan. Compare this character with millions of true devotees who have and are laying down their lives for the liberation of the Sikh nation and without expecting that the people will even know their names. Yes I do believe “God is ‘above and He sees Every Truth”. A true Sikh always lives in God’s will and never accepts or seeks false recognition, A true Sikh always seeks his Guru’s blessing and asks for His grace to grant him wisdom and strength to serve the Sikh Panth.
I believe this newspaper was started with the objective to pro mote the Sikh cause. The Sikh nation’s resources should riot be wasted to feed the ego of any egotist.
I request you and the Management of WSN to adopt a policy not to give any importance to these self-seekers; you should not publish any letter from any individual which is critical of any Sikh individual or a Sikh organization ‘until you are sure that the criticism is not for individual promotion but for the betterment of Sikh cause. This resource should not be waited for spreading negatism within the Sikh community.
It is time for these self-seekers to come out from their fadeouts and do some productive work for the Sikh nation, If they cannot join the other Sikhs in the liberation movement then they should keep their mouths shut The Sikh nation needs action and not empty slogans.

Dear Editor:
Apropos of Avtar Singh Mal hotra’s article in The Tribune and reproduced in World Sikh News dated November 27, 1987, I would like to state that the World ‘Sikh Organization is the only Sikh institution which has chapters in all the major countries of the free world. Indian government is scared because W.S.O. is exposing their black deeds and inhuman acts. W.S.O. was created as a Sikh body to win freedom for Sikh nation by peaceful means. Indian intelligence has done its worst to” malign it, even turning some ignorant Sikhs against it, But it is carrying out its functions religiously. Let us support this Sikh body so that we can achieve our objective and be wary of the malicious propaganda against us by the Soviet stages and Indian Intelligence agents.
