Dear Editor: T was pained to read the news item relating to Harbhajan Singh Yogi, published in your issue of December 4, 1987, under the head “Yogi Faces Fraud Charges in USA”.

1 also wish to state that Bhai Jiwan Singh informed me that the case was filed about two years back but has been withdrawn and there is no such case pending against the Yogi in any court. It would also be relevant to mention here that Harbhajan Singh Yogi has offered to work for the Panthic.

Cause under the overall direction of Bhai Jiwan Singh. He took a solemn vow to this effect which was confirmed through an Ardas before the Guru.

I would much appreciate if World Sikh News, which is the voice of the Sikh community, were to refrain from publishing stories which can cause disunity in the Panthic ranks.

It is high time that we should put a united front to fight the repression and oppression of the Indian government and launch a joint struggle to achieve our goal of complete independence of the Sikhs.

NOTE: The story published in our December 4, 1987, issue was reproduced from The Tribune, Chandigarh, without any additions or deletions. The story was filed by The Tribune correspondent, Mr. Ravi Sidhu who is currently in America and it appeared under his name. However, we would be most happy to publish any related matter to set the record straight. (Editor)

Dear Editor: The article published by Avtar Singh Malhotra in your newspaper (The Tribune) on November 13, 1987, has been brought to our attention, Mr. Malhotra’s accusation that the “WSO is a terrorist ‘command center and harbors terrorist activities” are totally false.

By publishing this letter, we sincerely hope that the readers will clearly understand the role of World Sikh Organization.

We are an umbrella organization of the Sikhs around the world and one of the objective of our ‘organization is to serve through peaceful means for the establish ‘ment of a Sikh Nation (Khalistan), in order to protect the Sikh identity and faith as ordained by the Guru Panth in the daily prayer “RAJ KAREGA KHALSA”,

The other objectives of our or organization is:

  1. To promote and follow the teachings of the Ten Gurusand Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
  2. To promote and facilitate an active line of communication amongst the Sikhs of the world.

3, to work for promotion of the ideals of universal brotherhood, peace, justice, freedom of worship, and speech, respect for cultural diversity and human dignity for all, without any distinction as pet the instruments and covenants of the United Nations’ Organization. 4, to promote and protect Sikh interests all over the world by participating in the formulation and implementation of the policies of the Sikh Nation.

Those of us that are fortunate to enjoy the glow of freedom in the Western democracies fully understand and realize that the people in India in general and Sikhs in particular do not only lack these humanitarian rights, but are being killed in false encounters every day.

It must be clearly understood that the activities of our organization are directed and guided as per the objectives outlined in the above paragraphs. We firmly believe in achieving our goals through education and diplomatic channels,

We are a “One World Family” irrespective of our differences and the Almighty God will solve the crisis in Punjab to the best interest of humanity.

We would certainly like to caution people like Mr. Malhotra that it is articles like his that are responsible for State terrorism in India and they should research their material before publishing.

Gian Singh Sandhu President World Sikh Org. of Canada

Dear Editor: The parole hearing for Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Sukhwinder Singh. And Virinder Singh was held in November as planned. They were denied parole for reasons which prove that they are being held for purely political purposes to please the Indian government, they were informed that the authorities believed that if they were released, they may again try to kill some

Hindu politician. They claim this would ruin their relations with the Indian government. This is clearly a move to pacify Indian demands. The relations between the US. And India is similar, to that of a man trying to make a whore faithful to him. On the one hand Indians protrate asks for more money and military equipment and With the other hand it accepts money and help from the Soviet Union also, The US, should demand amends from India before throwing away our money. India has a deplorable human rights record and has been cited by Amnesty International. India would not be so bold in its excesses if she did not have such wholehearted support from the U.S. The idea of the U.S. government is that they would prefer politically a fascist government in India rather than a communist country, The Indian government, however, is a mangy dog eating out of the hands of the USSR. The hard fight for Indian independence from the British has been fought in vain now that the heirs of the Nehru dynasty have compromised the freedom of India in exchange for perpetuating their power. This line of tyrants which boasts such personalities as the blood sucking Indira Gandhi, think that they will remain immortal and always in control. They achieved this control by murdering ‘opponents to their government. Power crazed as they are, these leaders have destroyed India. How can anyone believe that the Sikhs would accept such a government?

The Hindu masses are easily controlled by hate filled propaganda because they are ignorant and foolishly believe themselves to be a superior race somehow, Therefore, it would not only be foolish, ‘but extremely dangerous in the long run for the Sikhs to accept the rule of the Indian government. ‘Sikhs would be living like a cow — under the protection of a person who plans to later on slaughter it, this is the reason the Sikh nation must opt for Khalistan.

Kirtan at the prison in Oxford was held on Thanksgiving Day. ‘We gave our thanks to the Lord that we were able to remember Him, The day being a holiday, children were able to attend, Fauja Singh’s loud shouts of “Bole So Nihal” were enjoyed by all the enthusiastic Sikhs present. The Sikh inmates were presented with Karas, and kanghas. The authorities say they probably will allow them to use the 5ks with the exception of the kirpan.
