STOCKTON; In June, W.S.N. published a report noting that in addition to the horrors Sikh adults suffered at the hands of security forces, there were also children who had been abused. One case involved a four year old girl who had been covered with syrup and placed on an ant hill so that she would be tormented and bitten by the insects while her mother, who was bound and helpless, was forced to watch.
It appears that the family is yet another example of an immigrant lo the U.S. seeing his family tortured because of his alleged involvement in pro Khalistan policies.
Pramjit Singh Dakha currently living in the States has from his wife, a first-hand account of what she and their two baby daughters experienced. The unbelievable account is yet another example of a brave Sikh family steadfast in the face of govt. sponsored inhuman and unjust treatment. Editor Translation of letter from India
My dear Guru beloved Khalsa Ji To you and rest of family members Guru Fateh from me. Waheguru jika Khalsa-Waheguru jiki Fateh, With our strength, going through Khalistan movement. At present we are tolerative of torturing of Govt. We are all in good spirits here with the grace of God. God may give you the strength to serve the panth,
Now this You are putting your share in Khalistan movement. Because of you, police and C.R.P. doing indescribable harassing. Police sometimes say that if there is even one Khalistani member in any family, we are going to finish that family for good, so that no Khalistani can born in future. Khalsa ji in your absence, Police from Dakha Police Station asked my father and myself to Police Station Dakha and said that “Our big boss wants to interview with you.” When I and my father went there was no big-boss to interview us, only domestic officers were there. i saw your picture in a big size among other Sikh’s. Police then did the very worst to us. As they were going to kill us . They made us take off each other’s clothes and beat each other with long bamboo sticks until scars were visible on our bodies. Younger daughter Baghal Kaur age 7 months was put on hot sand in direct sun and al same time, police started to beat both of us with belts. Before they let us go they told us that, “until we don’t find your Khalistani husband and kill him, this will be repeated again After us, both my Brothers, Daljit Singh and Jagdev Singh were captured and taken to C I A. Staff Ludhiana. They were badly tortured there. They told us that they were hung up-side down. Their legs were pulled far apart until joints were broken. They were beat on bottom of feet. A big log was rolled on them to interrogate them. In the beginning, police did not tell us about where they kept them. We started to think that police might have killed my brothers in a fake encounter. We came to know then many members of village, others went and brought my brothers back. When they came back, they could not walk.
KhaIsa ji one day I went to Jagraon for shopping. The police then by force pushed me in their jeep along with younger daughter and took us to Ludhiana interrogation center. For four days they interrogated us both. My hands and bottom of feet were beaten by sticks. My legs were pulled far apart and broke joints, during torturing they demanded a large amount of money that didn’t have, Then they started to beat again with bamboo sticks and belts then beat on bottom of feet. They tied my arms behind and hung me from ceiling and pulled my legs far apart. Then they took off younger daughter Baghal Kaur’s clothes and put syrup on her body then put her on colony of ants. While she was eaten by ants the police had no mercy for her, Then I, helpless could not tolerate that she was being eaten up by ants, stated putting shame on them. Then they again started to torture me. Many people brought me back. Those who brought me back were also warned by police not to say anything or to tell anybody that “we brought her back and seen her in bad physical situation. I was warned by police not to tell any agency of human rights or anybody else about my physical situation. “If you do then we will kill you and your family members with bullets.” I was in bed for a month and have not recovered yet. Khalsa ji this is only some pain full hints in a few words that I am writing for your information. We are all also taking all kinds of pains and sufferings at this time to accomplish Khalistan, We are doing our moral duty-not a favor. True-Guru may bless us. Do not become sacred or fearful reading my letter, but to prepare your self, strengthen your mind and soul. Become more positive to fight for freedom. Thanks to God that lam alive yet. If God be kind to me he should give me a proud death than this type of life, At the end, from Dater Kaur age four years and Baghel Kaur age 1 year, Sat Shiri Akal with love. From Land rest of family members to you and rest of family members Guru Fateh. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. In wait of your letter your life partner.
