Dear Mr Solarz,

Thanks for your letter asking me to Support your cause to help India. Until June 84, I used to feel the Same way about India but things have changed now I am very Proud to be a Naturalized American Citizen but I am very concerned about what the Government of India is doing to the Sikhs in India, We are very grateful to all the congressman who are genuinely concerned about the violations of human rights of a minority community. If you had followed the happenings in Punjab you would not call this information slanderous, misled and erroneous.

All the sources of your information are from the Oppressor. Amnesty International reported human rights violations by the Government of India and those were printed in the newspapers in United States. The Sikhs were massacred by the thousands in their religious places and their bodies were not even given proper last rites rather they were dumped by the truckloads, they were burned alive with the full support of the Government officials, Sikh women were gang raped. Thousands have been in jails without trial for years. Children as old as 1 year old were thrown in jails with the adults. These facts can be proved even after five years of the attack on the Golden Temple Sikh youths are being killed in fake encounters, Sikh women are being tortured by the army and police. There is no freedom of speech or movement for Sikhs in India. Innocent people are being killed by the Government of India and the Sikhs are being labeled as terrorists. The only fault of the Sikhs is that they have the courage to fight back and don’t take the oppression lying down. It is one of the duties of the Sikhs to protect the oppressed and live with dignity. I requests you to share your information with Congressman Wally Herger, Congressman Shumway, and Congressman Gary Condit and get the Oppression in Punjab to a Stop. I would like to hear from you Mr. Solarz. I am very sure nobody will burn my house or arrest my son for speaking the truth because | am not in India but in America, the greatest nation on earth.
